Photoshoot Preparation

So for a uni assignment that I shant bore you with the details of, means that I get to do a photoshoot next week! I am so excited because I haven't done one based around fashion for ages and I have been itching to use some special pieces in my wardrobe that I have collected.
Here are the 10 outfits that I have put together so far, some will probably get changed over this week and on the day as I realise once the model puts it on that it looks like crap haha.

This Week I Am...

Inspired By...Black and White. I have been seeing it everywhere lately, not just in fashion but in my design work, I can't seem to escape it! However black and white together is a timeless look where you can't really go wrong.
Wanting...These red leather overalls by Friend of Mine. Or maybe anything in this colour and texture, it just seems so luxurious and dark and everything that I love rolled into one.
Wearing...My winter coats. It has been consistently cold the past few days and it is so hard to not only get warm but to stay warm. So it is time to pull out the big guns with some thick, furry coats.
Listening to...Young and Beautiful by Lana Del Rey. This song is on repeat right now and I can not get enough. Lana is such a beautiful emotional singer and her voice just makes me melt.

Sunday Market Haul: Part 16

Yesterday there was very few people selling at the markets, it was Mothers Day so I am hoping that people were instead treating their deserving mothers to a beautiful and relaxing day! I still had a quick wander around while my mum was still asleep to see if I could find anything and the only luck I had was on this really cute playsuit which I picked up for $5. Otherwise, there was not too much else to really look at!
I put together a little idea of how I would wear the playsuit out in future as right now the weather is freezing and I would probably catch frostbite if I wore this! I'll just have to wait for summer again...

Tip Twelve: Avoid awkwardness between the seller and yourself by going with a friend so you have someone else to talk to while looking through another persons belongings!

Met Ball Favourites

Once again MIA from my blogging lately, I had a test today that I've been studying for! So I put together a little post about my favourite looks from the Met Ball. The punk theme was amazing with so many people taking advantage of it and doing it well! There were a few mishaps (Kim K, really?) but for the most part I was really impressed, expecially by a few that I didn't think would be able to pull it off.

My favourite look of the night was Cara Delevigne, she interpreted the punk look into something really elegant that still had an edge to it!
I think the Met Ball is going to have a massive impact now in the coming months in fashion, with the punk look coming back into style with leather, studs and tartan galore!

Hope you all have a great weekend!

This Week I Am...

Inspired By...brilliantly styled lookbooks. I have an upcoming project for uni where I am styling a lookbook for a pretend vintage clothing website and am taking tonnes of inspiration from lookbooks from Beginning Boutique and Nasty Gal.
Wanting...Anything shearling. I am really liking thick, wooly textures at the moment and think a clutch or a jacket made out of shearling would be perfect.
Wearing...My new scarf from Sportsgirl. It is such a lovely dark shade of grey and is so long that I can wrap it around my neck several times.
Listening to...Over the Love by Florence Welch. One of the songs from the upcoming film The Great Gatsby, which I cannot wait to see!

Sunday Market Haul: Part 15

Yesterday was an awesome day at the markets with lots of really cool girls selling lots of vintage pieces for good prices, those are the best days!
I picked up the above vintage dress for $4, it has a really cool mystic sort of pattern when you look at it close up. Its quite short (it probably used to be a top) so I will probably have to wear a slip underneath.
I bought these two tops for $2 each, and as you probably know I really like oversized tops, so I think these will be really cool to wear with a pair of cut offs or a long maxi skirt and lots of long necklaces.
I bought these real leather pants for just $2 after being inspired by a friend of mine at work who also recently bought a vintage pair.
I've been wanting a fur jacket for a while now and thought I would give it a go with this burgundy one I bought for $1. Laid out like this it does look like something an old lady would wear with her matching velvet tracksuit pants, however I will try to make it work with some of my darker, sheer pieces in my wardrobe.
I was so happy to find these pants as I had been wanting a pair like this for so long, I bought them for $5 which is probably more than I would have usually paid for an item like this, but I think they will look really cool in a sports luxe outfit.
This mustard vinatge dress was $2 and needs a bit of work with the lining and shoulder pads that are falling out, however I think it will look cool with my shaggy black cardigan or a pair of jelly sandals!
Finally a few more rings to add to my colletion, they were all $2 each and I have already begun wearing them all stacked up together.

xx

Tip Eleven: Always check an item over for imperfections before you buy it! Particularly if it is a knit, make sure there aren't any holes, pulled or loose threads because you will come home to try it on only to be disappointed!
